For one to progress it is very essential for he/she to embrace change. Oftentimes this necessary change consists of letting go of things that hinder an individual from moving forward. A lot of times one will cling to certain feelings with the thought that they will work out. We try to stroke our egos and call this "giving the benefit of the doubt" in hopes that something or someone will 'come around'. This hinders progress. Continuing to hold onto habits, practices, people and desires of the past stops progression emotionally and psychologically. Emotionally, as your heart wants to keep practicing a certain activity, loving this individual or playing this game, it is being cluttered by old feelings making it impossible for new emotions to take place. Psychologically (using the above stated examples), as your mind is stayed on how you can continue to practice this activity, make this person love you in return, or proceed in playing this game you can't focus on what life has for your present/future. This future can not possibly be bright if the clouds of past experiences/people/desires are always hovering your emotions and thoughts.

Don't forget who you were, what you wanted, nor who you loved. But it's important to remember why you left it/them. If it/they left you then most likely, it was not meant to be. It is even more important for you not to let your past stop you from your future. You can not continue to hope that something will work out when it is gone; DON'T DO IT. What has ended is over for a reason. Accept this fact and progress. You can not retake the test. Get the F and let it be a lesson to study like the test actually matters. You can not make them love you like they used to. Let that lost love be a lesson to cherish the love you have. Live life! Learn from the lessons it (life) teaches you and progress.What/Who is holding you back? The more important question is, what/who are you letting hold you back? Progress is essential so make it happen.
